Old Traditions,
& New Memories
It’s Our Promise.

Marco’s father, a well-respected restaurateur in their community, undoubtedly influenced his son’s future path. Marco chose “La Brezza” as the name for his restaurant to honor these memories. It evokes the ocean breezes of his childhood home and pays tribute to his father’s legacy in the restaurant business. On the corner of First Avenue in Bridgeland, Marco recreated the comfort and warmth of those seaside memories, welcoming countless guests to dine in an atmosphere reminiscent of the gentle ocean breeze.

La Brezza translates to “the breeze” in Italian. While many stories about why Marco chose this name have come and gone, the true reason is deeply rooted in his unique background and experiences. Born in Somalia, Marco spent his formative years in Italy as a teenager. During Marcos childhood, when Italians colonized parts of Somalia, Marco’s brother remembers him as a curious child. He was known to befriend Italian guards, offering them cigarettes in exchange for access to Italian-only bars, eager to immerse himself in the culture and meet Italians. Somalia’s coastline along the Indian Ocean played a significant role in Marco’s childhood. He often got into mischief for venturing into the shark-infested waters, much to his family’s concern.
